|Lori Fenton, mezzo-soprano, has been singing in
the Des Moines area for over 20 years. Until 2015 she was a regular
soloist with the Westminster Presbyterian Church Chorale and Oratorio
choir. Performances on the Westminster Fine Arts Series include Missa
Sancti Nicolai by Joseph Haydn, St. Cecilia Mass by Charles
Gounod, the Advent and Lenten portions of Messiah, the oratorio Jephthe
by Handel, and The Seasonings by PDQ Bach. In 2016 she performed as
the Narrator in the world premiere of the opera More Than a Man Can
Take by David C. Wilson. She currently sings with the Chancel Choir
and Choral at Plymouth Congregational Church.
Ms. Fenton is a member of the Des Moines Vocal Arts Ensemble where she has performed as a soloist in both their regular concert season as well as during their annual Cabaret event. She has served on the ensemble board as both President and Treasurer. She is a member of the Howells Scholars, the professional choir-in-residence at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul that sings Choral Evensong as part of the Cathedral Arts Series. She was heard as soloist in the Cathedral's performance of the Duruflé Requiem.
Ms. Fenton is an accomplished handbell ringer and has participated in several auditioned groups across the county. She also serves as the Iowa Chair for the Handbell Musicians of America. She holds a BA in Accounting from Buena Vista College and is an AVP of Finance for Global Atlantic Life & Annuity.
